What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cert. Surgical Technologist / Float Pool position at Ascension Health?
We Are Hiring
- Department: Float Pool
- Schedule: PRN, 15 shifts per 6 week period
- Hospital: Midtown and West
- Location: Nashville, TN
What You Will Do
Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
- Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
- Hand required/requested instruments and supply to surgeon during surgery.
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instruments counts throughout procedures.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting(NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Per TCA68-57-101(a), non-certifiedapplicants must have at least 18 months experience as a surg technologist in the 3 years precedingMay 21,2007; or began the appropriate training to be a surg technologist prior to May 21, 2007, &completed by May 21,2010 required.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
