What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coord-Inventory-SCM position at Ascension?
6:30AM-3PM, MONDAY-FRIDAY
Performs clerical and logistical duties for supply and inventory control
required to support hospital operations.
Responsibilities:
Monitors, stocks, and transports supplies and/or equipment consistent with prescribed
policies and procedures
Inventory management; may include min/max review, daily monitoring of item changes,
new product implementation, managing item location changes, coordinating item
conversions, planning and managing inventory burn-down.
Maintains item attributes in ERP
Updates and maintains item labeling to maintain accuracy and meet specification
Managing vendor adherence to established practices; examples include regularly-
scheduled inventory review, payment practices, or contract adherence
May maintain contract addendums
Participates in System-wide Product Utilization/Value Analysis Teams in order to better
manage product changes and promote standardization.
Engages customers on a regular basis to ensure good service. Maintain the necessary
professional presence to effectively interact with clinicians, administrators, colleagues,
and vendors.
Ensures timely delivery of stock/inventory as needed
Investigates, troubleshoots and resolves inventory issues/problems
Coordinating and leading adherence to cycle count plans
Uses electronic handheld to maintain accurate inventory counts and drive replenishment
Identifies process improvements and drives implementation through supervisor
Ensures stock expiration is minimized with adherence to stock rotation guidelines and
best practice
Knows inventory locations sufficiently to put away stock accurately without guidance
Works with appropriate parties to ensure the right products are in the right place, at the
right time
Work with appropriate parties to ensure optimum inventory levels, consistent with
department financial goals, to minimize manual requisition entry
May be required to provide cross-functional support for other clinical areas as necessary
Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Do

- Manage non-stock inventory, requiring specialized ordering, decrementing and returning.
- Engage with nurses, nurse managers and other end users to discuss inventory concerns.
- Manage vendor adherence to established practices, including regularly-scheduled inventory review, payment practices and contract adherence.
- Work with appropriate parties to ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time.
