What are the responsibilities and job description for the PCA / Ortho Technician position at Ascension?
Part time. 24 hours a week.
Night shift. 7 pm - 7:30 AM.
every third weekend.
variable schedule with 50% of the holidays
What You Will Do
Perform basic patient care activities to orthopedic patients in assigned area.
- Assist with treatments ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
- Report abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
- Ordering stocking unit supplies of all types needed for patient care and locating shared equipment within the hospital. Timely and efficient completion of these tasks is required for quality patient care.
- Responsible for providing services to the patients and medical staff by applying, modifying and removing casts, traction appliances, and soft goods under written orders of attending physician. Assist physicians with these procedures as needed.

What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.
