What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Editor position at Ascensus?
***This position can be 100% remote from anywhere in the country***
Responsibilities:
- Draft content for internal or external communications, including but not limited to announcements, publications, newsletters, presentations, thought leadership articles across various media regarding legislative or regulatory guidance and other industry topics.
- Research, analyze and interpret legislative or regulatory guidance to create content for communications.
- Maintain technical and industry knowledge and understanding by providing helpdesk support on retirement plan or IRA technical topics via the phones to internal and/or external clients.
- Enhance technical and industry knowledge through continuing education on related topics by attending training or through industry programs.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Any of the following responsibilities may be assigned based on individual skill set:
- Draft and conduct training to internal or external clients.
- Review, analyze or draft retirement documents and related notices and forms.
- Conduct audits of clients’ procedures and practices.
- Calculate and prepare IRS and DOL corrections for clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Preference given to candidates with a degree in professional writing, English, Journalism, Communications or related field.
- Demonstrated excellent copy writing and proofreading skills. Experience in retirement or financial field preferred, but not required.
- Ability to learn a very technical topic.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Professional or ability to learn quickly
- Minimum of 4 years of writing or proofing experience.
- Position and salary based on level of experience.
