JOB SUMMARY
The Reclamation Manager will oversee the functions in the dismantling of aircraft and supervise the three (3) sites Tucson, Marana, and Roswell
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
- Adheres to Ascent General Work Requirements
- Supervises the dismantling of aircraft.
- Ensures that all work performed complies with applicable technical data, FAA regulations and ASCENT AVIATION policies and procedures.
- Evaluates schedules and estimates work-hours requirement for completion of job assignments. Adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Supervises the review of non-preplanned documents to identify tooling requirements. Provides timely estimate for all maintenance on non-preplanned documents within scope of responsibility.
- Ensures that a valid job number, part number, and serial number documented on all aircraft parts/components removed from an aircraft in work.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Ensures that customer approval is obtained on original and revised estimates to accomplish maintenance on aircraft and components.
- Ensures that all required paperwork is satisfactorily completed, signed and in compliance with existing regulations and procedures.
- Ensures that employees receive proper orientation and training and performs on-the-job training as necessary. Ensures that training is documented in employee training records.
- Interprets company policies to workers, enforces safety regulations and the proper use of equipment and ensures that quality standards are met.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of workers including assigning work duties for maximum utilization of manpower and analyzing and resolving work problems.
- Maintains communications within area of responsibility, informing employees as to plans and progress and promoting teamwork and cooperation.
- Conducts performance evaluations on employees and makes recommendations to management regarding personnel actions such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
Marginal Job Functions:
- Working knowledge of basic business and management principles as applied to resource allocation, leadership technique, staff and resource coordination, strategic planning, and human resource modeling.
- Provides regular reports of activities to management.
- Attends meetings and conference calls as require.
- In the absence of a Production Controller, monitors and controls the work documents within assigned responsibility area according to policy.
- Coordinates with customers to obtain data relating to a project in work.
- Make recommendations to management to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, or cut costs.
- Performs the duties of the Project Manager in his/her absence.
- Performs maintenance duties away from based on temporary duty.
- Ensure that all work performed is done in a safe manner. Directs activities to protect employees from harm and maintain safe working conditions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
SMS REQUIREMENTS
- Will provide top-level resources and support to SMS compliance, FAA regulations, safe workplace initiatives/practices, and to eliminate health hazards.
- Will consider all employee suggestions to propose solutions, and/or possible improvements for achieving a safer, healthier workplace.
- Will monitor, measure and track safety objectives to ensure performance standards are met and to implement continuous improvement measures.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
- May be required to attend meetings before/after scheduled hours
- Overnight travel may be required
- Overtime may be required
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Computer skills necessary to learn and/or operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications
- Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload of assigned area and employees within a multiple project setting
- Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, employees, other departments
- Working knowledge of commercial aircraft industry, products, and services
- Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to business aircraft industry
Experience: 3-5 years experience in Aircraft Maintenance with 3 years progressive supervisory experience
Education/Training: Bachelors Degree in Business or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training or experience required.
Certificates/Licenses: A&P License preferred. Current valid divers license.
Other: May be required to work at Marana, AZ , Tucson, AZ or Roswell, NM locations as business needs dictate.
