The Attendance Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and up-to-date attendance records for students and is part of the front office team. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities. This includes working closely with teachers, administrators, parents, and students to monitor attendance, maintain records, and support the overall attendance management process and entry system at the school.
Responsibilities:
- Attendance Monitoring: Track and record daily attendance for all students, including absences, tardiness, and early departures.
- Attendance Reporting: Generate timely attendance reports and distribute them to appropriate stakeholders, such as teachers, administrators, and parents.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and confidential attendance records, ensuring they are properly stored and easily accessible for reference and verification purposes.
- Communication: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to address attendance-related concerns, provide updates, and promote consistent attendance practices.
- Attendance Improvement: Identify patterns or trends in attendance data, and work with the school community to devise strategies for improving student attendance.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with school district attendance policies and procedures, reporting any non-compliance issues to the appropriate authorities.
- Follow-up: Initiate communication with parents/guardians when students are absent or tardy, and document reasons for absences as required.
- Record Maintenance: Update and maintain student records, including attendance-related documentation, in accordance with school policies and legal requirements.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to teachers and staff on attendance procedures, record-keeping, and the use of attendance management systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in administration or related field is a plus.
- Experience in administrative roles, preferably in an educational setting.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills, including data entry and experience with attendance management systems or software.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with various stakeholders.
- Discretion in handling confidential information and maintaining student privacy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with relevant state and district attendance policies and regulations is desirable.
- Ability to work independently while also being a team player as front office.
Salary : $30,000 - $38,000
