Position Overview - Payroll Specialist:
We are seeking an honest, sincere, and values based team member to serve as the Payroll Specialist reporting to the Chief People Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process Payroll and support the general human resource functions
- Stay current with payroll guidelines, employment laws, rules, and regulations, and communicate changes to the leadership team.
- Resolve employee payroll concerns
- Track time off and related changes and impact to payroll
- Maintain employee payroll records and files
- Coordinate benefits deductions, garnishments, and related payroll deductions
- Ability to grow career in human resource management
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 2 to 3 years of payroll processing experience required
- Familiar with Paylocity or similar HR/Payroll Systems
- Ability to process payroll and manage the payroll cycle
- Grasp of general payroll and employment laws
- Support the mission and vision of Ascent Classical Academies and the ideals of classical, liberal arts education and its value in the development and formation of young people.
- Must have high moral character and embrace the virtues of a free and just society.
