Position Overview - Payroll Specialist:

We are seeking an honest, sincere, and values based team member to serve as the Payroll Specialist reporting to the Chief People Officer. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process Payroll and support the general human resource functions
• Stay current with payroll guidelines, employment laws, rules, and regulations, and communicate changes to the leadership team.
• Resolve employee payroll concerns
• Track time off and related changes and impact to payroll
• Maintain employee payroll records and files
• Coordinate benefits deductions, garnishments, and related payroll deductions
• Ability to grow career in human resource management

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 2 to 3 years of payroll processing experience required
• Familiar with Paylocity or similar HR/Payroll Systems
• Ability to process payroll and manage the payroll cycle
• Grasp of general payroll and employment laws
• Support the mission and vision of Ascent Classical Academies and the ideals of classical, liberal arts education and its value in the development and formation of young people.  
• Must have high moral character and embrace the virtues of a free and just society.
