What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biology Research Mentor position at ASDRP?
Seeking individuals with an academic background in the biological sciences (including marine biology, ecology, molecular biology, immunology, botany) who are interested in mentoring high school students in research. Graduate students, postgraduates, industry members, and retirees are welcome to apply. Master's degree OR 3 years industry experience is highly desirable.
Required: at minimum a 4-year degree in biology, ecology, or biochemistry or related field, advanced work is preferred. Research and/or high-level project experience is highly desirable. Please include a resume or CV with relevant research experience, a list of publications, conference papers, and/or patents.
Flexible hours - you set your own schedule. Access to well-equipped research facilities, including both life science and engineering/fabrication R&D laboratories and a high performance computing server cluster available for remote access. Should be willing to work closely with other STEM professionals, staff members, and high school students. Many current mentors do this on the side of their current work commitments - we can work around your schedule.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
