Job Posting for Head Mechanic at Ashland City School District
POSITION: Head Mechanic – Transportation Services
8 hours per day, 260 days
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from accredited high school or G.E.D.
- A minimum of five (5) year experience at the skilled level in automotive, diesel, transmission repair work
- State of Ohio Class B Commercial Driver’s License with air brake, Ohio school bus endorsement. (Must obtain CDL within 90 days of employment.)
Desired:
- ASE Certified mechanic training or equivalent;
- Experience working with Caterpillar engines and/or Allison transmissions;
- Experience with computer engine diagnostics;
- Responsible for skilled repair and preventative maintenance of a wide variety of automotive and related equipment: including but not limited to, installing parts, computer diagnostic, changing tires, cutting, welding, painting, body work and towing, if needed;
- Successful candidate must pass Ohio BCI&I and FBI background check.
COMPENSATION RANGE: Per Negotiated Contract
