Position: Student Services/School Counselor for the 2024-2025 School Year
Certification/Qualifications: The successful candidate shall demonstrate strong organizational, communication, human relations, management, team and public relations/community skills. Applicants should have a sincere interest in and a commitment to work with students, parents, staff, businesses, community organizations and associate district schools as a Student Services/School Counselor.
The candidate must hold at least a Master’s Degree and a Guidance/School Counselor certificate/license.
Duties: The Student Services/School Counselor will work closely with the District's Secondary Principal, Secondary Assistant Principal, Secondary Satellite/Testing Coordinator, staff, students, parents, community and associate schools. The Student Services/School Counselor’s duties and responsibilities will include pupil personnel services such as enrolling students at the Career Center, assisting in student placement, assisting teachers, assisting with parent/teacher/student conferences, assisting with reports and student records including report cards, Career Passports, etc., counseling students as needed, assisting with student make-up work, coordinating and monitoring EOC, ACCUPLACER, and other district student tests, research, student recruiting with associate schools, student mentoring, shadowing, career counseling and other duties as assigned.
Contract: 2024-2025 Contract - 183 contracted days with the additional extended service/time contracted days (to be scheduled as determined by the Secondary Principal).
Salary: Appropriate placement on teachers' salary schedule based on certification, education/ degree and experience.
