Job Summary:
Under the close supervision of the Quality Improvement Director, the Quality Improvement (QI) Analyst is responsible for identifying problems in clinical or operational process, collecting and analyzing information to make recommendations for strengthening the organization’s operational efficiency and productivity of clinical services, improved patient experiences and clinical outcomes. The QI analyst will assist the clinic operations team to make decisions related to planning work processes.
\n- Identifying problems in clinical process, patient experience, operational efficiency and productivity of clinical services
- Obtaining data from internal databases which include data from an electronic health record (EHR) system and phone system
- Gathering input by interviewing nurses, providers, patients or others involved in the process and performing site observations to map out the process
- Breaking down the problem to various parts, such as provider specialty, EHR scheduling system and phone system and use statistical analysis, predictive modeling and other methods to analyze information.
- Weighing impacts and effects of all possible solutions to improve resource allocation, staff shortages, and balance workload and workflow and making recommendations to clinical and operational managers
- Writing reports and presenting findings to clinical and operation leaders to support decision making and problem solving. Reports includes core measures related to clinical services, patient satisfaction, safety, resource utilization, and productivity
- This is an entry-level position requiring university-level knowledge of quality improvement approaches, mathematical methods, and analytical skills to identify problems, generate reports and make recommendations that inform change decisions by clinical and operational leaders at AHS.
- Master’s degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Logistics, Healthcare Systems Engineering or Business
- Quality improvement approaches: LEAN and Six-Sigma
- SQL query language
- Large datasets extraction and analysis
- Familiarity with healthcare information systems and engineering economics in healthcare
