What are the responsibilities and job description for the DC Shipping Clerk position at ASICS?
POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Distribution Center Shipping Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all shipping and receiving documents and related functions are completed accurately and timely. The incumbent will actively communicate with customers to resolve discrepancies and comply with routing guides and other special requests to ensure shipments meet customer needs and avoid chargebacks. DC Shipping Clerk will also provide support to DC Routing Planners as required. DC Shipping Clerk will also provide support to the compliance department as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure accuracy of all shipping documents by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure drivers receive proper documentation
- Assure orders and shipping quantities match picking documents and labels are properly applied
- Ensure processes are followed with regard to the security and movement of goods out of the DC
- Answer and route customer calls or inquiries in a professional manner
- Initiate and answer tracking inquiries
- Arrange the movement of freight to consignee and ensuring information is updated accurately
- Compile and maintain all data records relative to shipping activities
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick up of shipments
- Identify and correct errors in the packing list
- Enter data into warehouse management system relative to all shipping activities
- Assist DC Routing Planners with duties as required. Provides support to import/export clerk as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Able to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines and department results
- Knowledgeable in SAP and WMS
- Knowledge of public safety procedures of relevant equipment, policies, and strategies to protect people and data
- Knowledge of principles and process for providing customer service, including needs assessments and meeting quality standards
- Skilled at managing administrative and clerical procedures such as managing files and records, and general office procedures
- Skilled at problem solving and developing options to implement solutions
- Able to understand perceptual vision by identifying objects that are in close proximity
- Able to communicate in (written and oral) forms
Programs Knowledge:
- Microsoft (Word and Excel) - Intermediate skill level required, Expert skill level preferred.
- Microsoft Office 365 - Intermediate skill level required
- Microsoft Access - Basic skill level required, Intermediate skill level preferred
