- Within the Corporate Insurance department the objectives and responsibilities of Corporate Insurance are to minimize risk management costs of ASML’s worldwide insurance portfolio, by:
- effectively and efficiently transferring risks to the insurance markets;
- supporting Risk Control activities;
- actively contribute to the company-wide Risk Management process.
Role and responsibilities
Primarily for the North America region and in relevant cases other countries as well, always in close alignment and cooperation with the Corporate Insurance Managers based in NL,
- Ensure optimal terms and conditions on transactions with insurance companies, insurance brokers, risk management consultants and valuators.
- Follow market developments in order to be able to bench mark negotiated terms and conditions on transactions with insurance companies, insurance brokers, risk management consultants and valuators.
- Coordinate corporate insurance program and manage claims and relevant insurance activities worldwide.
- Support sectors and corporate functions in assessing risk, developing and implementing risk control measures, ensuring compliancy to relevant local laws and regulations.
- Analyze and monitor ASML’s risk profile.
- Advise sector management and corporate functions on risk management policies & strategies.
- Develop and implement Risk Finance & Transfer solutions.
- Take out local defined insurances in conjunction with Corporate Insurance in Veldhoven. Keep local regulations, law and agreed arrangements into consideration to ensure compliancy. Judgement on local coverage in case of a (potential) claim.

Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant insurance experience
- Extensive knowledge of Insurance Management process and local insurance market within an international context
- Good knowledge of relevant legal, accounting and taxation aspects
- Affinity with the semi-conductor business in general and the wafer fabrication systems business in particular
- Creatively anticipating on business activities and their risk consequences

Other information
- Make an inventory of the interests to be insured;
- Prepare clear underwriting information for the insurance market;
- Negotiate on (coverage) Terms & (premium) Conditions; make a final selection for the local insurances to be obtained.
- Ensure a proper roll out of the local Insurance Policies;
- Ensure that all necessary local compulsory insurances are in place;
- Internally first point of contact on Insurance related questions and/or claims within USA including coordination with all parties involved (customers, suppliers, forwarders, loss adjusters, insurers)
- Obtaining reimbursement on covered damage events and facilitate possible necessary risk improvement measures
- Carry out risk surveys on (new) buildings, production processes, suppliers etc.
- Actively monitor, report on and drive the implementation of advised measures risk improvements
- Educate and explain to US sector management relevant insurance policies and procedures;
- Assist the Corporate Insurance managers with the data collection, issuance of local policies in conjunction with local Finance colleagues globally
- Assist the Corporate Insurance managers on non-USA claims in case of large events and/or time differences between regions.
- On a project basis leading or collaborating on insurance related topics/questions
- Assist or co-ordinate on general Treasury related topics for the US region
