Aspen Publishing is seeking a Production Intern to be a part of a growing Company. Our production department produces textbooks and digital content in the field of legal education--including law school and undergraduate paralegal and business law courses. The ideal candidate is interested in a career in production who is prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment. The intern will gain familiarity and hands-on experience with various aspects of book and digital production. TITLE : Production Intern REPORTS TO : Senior Production and Editorial Manager DEPARTMENT : Production FLSA STATUS : NON-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY : Responsible for participating in various stages of print and digital book production ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Monitoring workflows * Data entry and data auditing in title management system * Archiving * QA tasks QUALIFICATIONS: * Microsoft Office * English/Journalism Major a plus but not required * Strong Attention to detail and ability to execute plans on time and at the highest quality * Comfortable working in fast-paced and deadline-driven environment * Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills * Ambition to take on new projects and opportunities as assigned * Strong organizational skills, including ability to organize print and digital files * Troubleshooting and problem solving * Prioritization and multitasking skills * Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to sit for extended periods of time * Ability to work on computer for extended periods of time * Ability to listen and speak carefully while interacting with others * Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally ABOUT US: Aspen Publishing is a leading provider of educational content and digital learning solutions to law schools in the US and around the world.
