The Strategic Alliances Manager is a versatile position working with all current ASC (Aspen Skiing Company) Partners and Sponsors and multiple internal departments. The position will handle regular communication with ASC partners with an emphasis on contract deliverables and activations. This person will work to prospect new sponsor deals for events and resort.
The starting point of the range is $62,000 and actual pay is dependent upon experience and qualifications, and all of our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.
Essential Job Functions
Administrative
- Handle all sponsor invoicing and monitor A/R accounts with monthly updates
- Track all relevant internal partner sales numbers monthly, understand key product order dates, and compile and submit orders
- Input and regularly monitor partner complimentary tickets, passes, vouchers and verify billing
- Maintain all logo guidelines and obtain sponsor and internal staff sign off for all logo uses
- Keep running tabs on all relevant partner information and share weekly with supervisor as well as all sales templates including verbiage, numbers, demos, dates, imagery and video
- Provide event / branding recaps within 72 hours of an event, and within 7 days of season close
Activation
- Prep for and handle monthly communication with brand & agency contacts, share details internally
- Explore all viable opportunities for group business in conjunction with ASC Sales & drive revenue and promotional opportunities to internal divisions through partner relationships
- Design and execute all out of market partner ASC activations, monitoring reach and impact
- Order, receive, store (coordinate with ABG or Ops), ship, deploy, track & deliver sponsor product
- Develop and execute internal and external gifting program, plus and prizing for events & parties
- Monitor all sponsor product and signage placements monthly, proof all material menu changes
- Work with partners to create, store and deploy all branding assets in a uniform fashion
Event Production and Support
- Filter and evaluate all third-party branding proposals
- Develop branding plans in conjunction with Operations team and in compliance with local code
- Oversee partner load in, set up and load out plans, and notify neighboring entities accordingly
- Oversee and direct day-of events staff as needed
Sales
- Prospect regularly for event and resort partnership opportunities as well as filter new opportunities
- Develop a working understanding of ASC public facing offerings and intellectual property values
- Develop comprehensive custom sales decks for designated categories and event properties
- Follow appropriate approval guidelines for proposal, contracts and deal terms, draft contracts and LOI’s as needed for review, revision and submission
- Lead community partner and hospitality package sales for World Cup and additional 3rd party events
- Other duties as assigned
- A degree, High School Diploma or 3-5 years related working experience is preferred but not required
- Experience in brand management, contracts, and or working on behalf of a rights holder
- Managing multiple accounts and relationships in a fast paced environment
- Education and awareness of action sports industry
- Flexibility to work is a fast paced environment with continuous change
- Ability to communicate with multiple heads of departments and external brand leads
- Ability to work independently with little instruction or supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and specifically Excel
- Experience with website management
- Demonstrated ability in analysis, planning, coordination and data management.
- General office/administrative/budget experience.
- Strong leadership & motivational skills required.
Additional Information
Supervision Given and Received
Supervision given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Supervision received: Works under general supervision of Managing Director, Event Development. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.
Work Environment and physical demands
While in office: Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements
No adverse or hazardous conditions
Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
While supporting events: Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
Must be able to ocassionally lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
