The Role Aspen Technology, industry leader in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) software is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual as a Product Manager for the Aspen Production Execution Manager (APEM). The Product Manager will define strategic direction, lead the product & technology strategy and develop plans to accelerate customer adoption and business growth. The Product Manager will also contribute to the overall commercial and technical strategy for AspenTech’s family of Pharmaceutical solutions as a whole. We seek a dynamic individual with strong commercial skills and motivation to make an impact on our product and company strategy APEM is a world renowned production execution and EBR (electronic batch record) system for executing the production of batch products in Specialty Chemicals and Pharmaceutical production, and then recording the batch data in unalterable form so a Quality Assurance team can undertake their ISO9000 activities and approve or reject the batch. It is a central component of AspenTech’s Pharma production solution along with Batch Advanced Process Control (APC), Aspen Production Record Manager, and the multi-variate statics engines in our CAMO and ProMV product, which are used for quality monitoring and parametric release. APEM is an important element of our aspenONE Manufacturing and Supply Chain suite, which provides an integrated suite of supply chain solutions for the continuous and batch process industries, the information management infrastructure needed by these facilities, and optimization and control solutions needed for the optimal and safe operation of these process plants. Your Impact Develop a business strategy for your product line. Shapes and/or champions a new direction for your product line. Prepares and present the business case supporting a particular initiative associated with the product line. Evaluates and drives strategic product management processes: ensures the right blend of trade-offs to maximize the product impact in the marketplace. (competition, release timing and pricing) Research customer pain points, market need and creates the business case for products. Analyzes commercial impact of product initiatives - Supports senior staff with research, development, and presentation of new product concepts. Collaborates with Product Marketing to develop and implement go-to-market plans for product line. Market Insights: Understand the market and the competitors who play in this market, develop commercial and product insights from product usage data to produce quantitative analyses covering market size, growth rate, and other key success factors. Positioning: With the Marketing team, develop competitive positioning strategies for current and future market offerings. Value Proposition: Develop and maintain market-oriented value propositions for target customers and target industries. Sales Engagement: Provide strategic and tactical support for Marketing and Sales teams as a result of detailed commercial/product analyses and business modeling. What You'll Need At least 5 years enterprise software industry experience. Strong understanding of customer needs and objectives, including experience in either Pharma, Food & Beverage, or Spec Chem production environment. A good grasp for 21CFR11 requirements. Exposure to sales, product management, and marketing. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Effective, clear, and concise presentation skills. Ability to maintain excellent colleague and peer relationships. Undergraduate degree in a technical field related to Pharma or Specialty Chemicals production. Bonus points for an MBA.
