Aspen Aerogels, Inc. is seeking a Director, HRIS to develop, implement, and lead our HR technology strategy for the enterprise which includes HR system implementation, business process design, vendor selection, change management, and current-state assessments of both technical and functional nature. The Director, HRIS has expertise in several areas of HR Technology, while having deep understanding of HR processes and practices, HR analytics, system configuration, designing system enhancements, managing upgrades, and supporting all people systems including: HRMS, Benefits, Compliance, Employee/Manager Self-Service, Recruiting, Onboarding, Compensation, Timekeeping, Payroll, Learning and Performance.
As a member of the corporate HR management team, you will foster strong relationships with stakeholders in HR, IT and across the business, to determine solutions (tools and processes) that meet business needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
HR Technology:
- Evaluate current HR Platform(s) and develop overall HR Technology strategy in support of business needs. Translate business objectives into solutions with clearly defined scope, timing deliverables, resources, and key measures of success. Identify and implement best in class solutions to address demands of rapidly scaling business.
- Offer technical expertise and insight to support informed decision-making and identify opportunities for process optimization and manage the identification of technology solutions.
- Serve as a liaison between management and IT to help to establish the strategic direction for enterprise HR systems.
- Bring your vision and passion for HR systems and processes to a global scale.
- Possess deep knowledge of HR processes, advise on best practices for optimizing the use of HR tools, drive global HR process optimization and standardization while balancing the business need for flexibility.
HR Analytics:
- Lead the development and delivery of the global people analytics strategy, providing analytics and insights to support Aspen’s policies and practices.
- Design and deliver insights to understand and inform strategic decisions across business lines.
- Create a set of on-demand dashboards, providing insights into talent acquisition, attrition, diversity, workforce planning, etc.
- Provide advisory and consulting support to inform HR strategy and decision-making.
- Consult with HR teams (Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Learning & Development, etc.) to offer customized analytics solutions (e.g., predictive analytics to understand the effectiveness of HR Processes, or how people factors impact business performance)
- Build an analytics culture by communicating the value of analytics to the broader HR and business line communities.
HR Operations:
- Drive the selection, implementation and upgrades of all HR tools and processes to ensure we maximize our use of technology in streamlining people operations and scaling our business globally.
- Establish ongoing reporting requirements and workforce analytics to drive data-based decision making.
- Coordinate HR interactions cross-functionally with other teams as necessary, including Payroll, Finance, IT, as well as other parts of the HR team.
- Work with the HR team and key stakeholders to ensure HR compliance in all domestic and international jurisdictions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study and equivalent work experience (~10 years). Focus area or program in HR Technology and/or HR Analytics a plus
- Has excelled and led change initiatives in fast paced, rapidly scaling environments
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organization
- Track record of relationship building with integrity, reliability, and maturity
- Strong digital/technology understanding and the ability to learn new technology quickly
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience using data n decision making and in evaluating the effectiveness of programs and services
- Global experience with an understanding of how to provide HR Operational support in a scalable, agile and compliant manner in a growing international business.
- Consulting mindset and experience leading major HR technology implementations
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while demonstrating keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
- Comfort with ambiguity and proven ability to create clarity
