Entry level to early career position within the actuarial department in a high energy and innovative start up insurance company in Durham, NC. Opportunity to join a growing team and get exposure to all aspects of actuarial work through a rotational program, including possible experience in Bermuda.

What You Will Do:
Support actuarial department initiatives and carryout out responsibilities within pricing and/or valuation departments.

- Assist in new business product development and maintenance work
- Quality assurance
- Build validation tools
- Create test plans
- Develop product illustrations
- Review and help develop actuarial assumptions
- Monitor company experience
- Operate actuarial models to calculate financial balances
- Assist in business forecasting exercises
- Data management
- At least one successful SOA exam
- BA/BS in a related field
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Exposure to actuarial concepts
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
- Data management and/or coding skills
- Ability to aggregate/manipulate large datasets
- VBA, R, Python, etc.
- Self-starter and willingness to learn
- Self-motivated with strong collaboration and communication skills
- Team player with an entrepreneurial spirit
