What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billeting position at ASRC Federal?
The Billeting Aide cleans rooms and other premises of lodging, kitchen, and dining facilities, as well as performing desk clerk duties (in-checking and out-checking all visitors), and collecting and reporting charges for billets and meals as defined by Air Force policy. Serves as visitor liaison for all overnight guests at Eareckson Air Station. The incumbent also provides food services support.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Dusts and cleans blinds, furniture, and other surfaces.
- Removes soiled linens for laundering; sorts, counts, folds, mark, and carry linens.
- Performs weekly linen exchanges.
- Turns mattresses and makes beds.
- Moves and arranges furniture, and hangs drapes.
- Cleans and polishes metalwork and porcelain bathroom fixtures.
- Spot-cleans walls and windows.
- Empties wastebaskets and removes trash; transports trash from utility rooms and other collection points to pick-up area.
- Replenishes room supplies.
- Uses cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals, and supplies.
- Mops floors; vacuums carpets to clean and control bacteria.
- Reports needed repairs to equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures.
- Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and requests repairs when needed.
- Answers phone and in-person customer service questions.
- Performs kitchen duties as assigned, including rinsing and wiping down hoods, splash areas and grills; wipes down ovens, desert and display cases, and beverage dispensing machines; maintains cleanliness of coolers and freezers; washes kettles, dishes, and silverware after use; polishes stainless steel kitchen equipment; clears grease traps and introduces drain relief at the end of each day; cleans and sanitizes kitchen tables and shelves; mops kitchen floor and vacuums dining room area.
- Transports kitchen and food supplies to dining facility or cold storage when they are received on-island, as needed.
- Retrieves daily food supplies from cold storage.
- Stocks coolers and snack area in the dining facility.
- Fills condiment dispensers on dining hall tables.
- Prepares salads, sandwiches, and other self-service food items.
- Performs related work as assigned.

Work Conditions:
The employee is regularly required to talk and hear to understand instructions, provide information, and respond to safety warnings. Work conditions require the employee to stand; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; taste or smell. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance and lift and/or move heavier objects with assistance.
