HID Operations:
This role will report to the Director, Global Logistics, within the Operations organization. This a newly developed role to work with the transportation and logistics teams and our partners in driving and developing cost savings initiatives and executing project deliverables. The team supports inbound and outbound transportation of products across the globe, by land, air, and sea.
As our Logistics Project Manager, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Creating, managing and driving the portfolio of related logistical projects resulting in process improvements and cost savings.
- Engaging HID Global stakeholders and logistics services providers to identify opportunities for process improvements and freight savings.
- Leading projects from initiation (charter) through technical transfer to business area operations.
- Organizing cross-functional activities and communicating timelines to deliver project/product on schedule, on budget and within charter constraints.
- Communicating with decision-makers and key partners on decisions needed, updates, project status, risk assessments and contingency plans.
- Influencing business unit stakeholders at all levels with facts, data analysis, and critical assessments.
- Partnering and negotiating with logistics service providers and internal customers.
- Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
- Working with acquisitions across multiple business areas to ensure that projects and initiatives align with global standards and best practices.
What we will like about your background:
- Working knowledge of trade regulations, tariffs, and preferential trade agreements, import/export policies, and custom clearance procedures.
- Abilities and experience in motivating, influencing, and collaborating with all levels of management and stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong project management experience and methodologies.
- Established track record of successful logistics related project implementations.
Your Experience and Education include:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management or related discipline or relevant experience desired.
- 3-5 years transportation management experience in a global environment, including international and domestic trucking, parcel, rail, ocean, and air freight preferred.
- 2 years project management experience is highly preferred.
- CAPM or PMP certification preferred, but not required.
