Job Description
Position Purpose
The Senior Property Accountant is an experienced Senior Level Accountant with a solid understanding of financial reporting and accounting concepts, complex accounting issues, advanced research and analytical skills and serves as a resource for other accountants on the team. S/he works closely with team members to ensure the quality of CMA’s monthly Financial Statements.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities
- Manage an Accounting Portfolio of approximately 50-65 properties based upon varying levels of complexity.
- Produces quality, accurate & timely monthly Financial Statements.
- Researches and resolves accounting issues involving Accounting Portfolio properties.
- Serves as lead member of “Portfolio Team”, acting as a resource and/or mentor for junior team members, occasionally reviewing final work product prior to distribution.
- May be called upon to provide on-going general accounting services training to team members and/or coordinate supplemental and specialized training, as deemed necessary.
- Assist with other Accounting Issues and Special Projects, as assigned.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Will be communicating with all levels of personnel, so clear and concise communication is a must.
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills are required.
- Must be detail-oriented and dependable, and consistently contribute as a team player.
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently without supervision.
- Must have strong multi-tasking skills and meet company deadlines.
- Must have a positive and professional appearance, attitude, and demeanor.
- Position demands creative thinking, consistent accuracy, and a sense of urgency.
- Starting salary range $55k- $65k DOE
Education Required
- The knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through the acquisition of a high school diploma and/or GED.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and Outlook email.
- Proficiency using VMS HOA Accounting Software and/or Strongroom lockbox payables system.
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent industry experience preferred.
- 5-7 years of relevant full-cycle Accounting experience.
