Responsibilities


  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on quality assurance and tax compliance, providing support to various business sectors including Pricing, Awards, Tenders, and Customer Service.
  • Audit quality of contract award processes, from initial receipt through to final execution, maintaining a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct thorough analyses and Audit to identify taxable and non-taxable elements of aviation fuel transactions, with a specific emphasis on VAT (Value Added Tax), MOT (Mineral Oils Tax), and other applicable taxes such as Federal Excise Tax, Federal Oil Spill Tax, Superfund Tax, state/provincial Oil Tax, state/provincial Sales Tax, state/provincial Inspection Fees, and other fees charged by local / airport authorities.
  • Collaborate and engage closely with Customers, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other business units to address and resolve tax-related issues.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control standards within the Commercial Operations department to minimize invoice disputes and enhance process efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to tax and quality assurance matters.
  • Manage the foreign VAT reclaim process, function as a liaison for local Tax consultants.
  • Provide mentored backup coverage for varied accounting and tax functions, including journal entries and tax research regarding domestic & international aviation deals.
  • Review execution of contracts setup process from receipt of contract award to contract signature and execution.
  • Provide recommendations and insight on existing and new processes that support the efficient and accurate maintenance of AEG’s pricing database.

Requirements:


  • Basic knowledge in Accounting
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Business/Administration/IT.
  • Ability to professionally interact with others at all levels across the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills used to engage direct reports, colleagues, vendors, customers, and other external third parties.
  • Identify potential problems, present alternatives, and propose solutions.
  • Position is not eligible for regular remote work and is required to be based in Miami, Florida. Position is eligible for relocation disbursement.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment and be detail oriented.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities a plus
