Associated Grocers of New England is currently seeking a full time, entry level Graphic Designer to help us design and create graphics to meet specific customer needs such as, but not limited to, flyers, bulletins, menus, video editing, and digital media. We use a variety of mediums to achieve artistic or decorative effects.

*This entry-level position requires full-time on-site work at our Pembroke, NH office Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm, remote work is not available. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide relocation assistance at this time. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate at their own expense. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Create designs, concepts and layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.
• Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy and select style and size of type.
• Communicate with customers to discuss and determine layout design via phone, fax, or email.
• Develop graphics and layouts for print, company logos, as well as digital and social media.
• Proofread final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.
• Use computer software to generate material using the Apple platform and Adobe Creative Cloud as well as other design software programs.
• Research important Holidays that need to be noted and research cross merchandising opportunities and nutritional information.
• Maintain archive of images, photos, and previous published files.
• May perform other duties as assigned to meet business objectives.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• College degree in Graphic Design or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of Design Principals.
• Creative and understands the use of Typography both in print and digital.
• Excellent typing skills and basic troubleshooting knowledge.
• Ability to proofread and communicate clearly both verbally and in written form.
• Ability to learn and retain knowledge quickly.
• Ability to work in a team environment, but also be able to work independently.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, problem solving and time management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Graphic Design software such as: Mac OS, Adobe CreativeSuite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, video editing software iMovie, Premiere Pro, Adobe Acrobat; advanced knowledge: Internet, MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong image editing skills and strong knowledge of different file formats.
• Knowledge of offset and digital printing and the four-color process as well as other color systems.
• Strong knowledge of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
• Ability to prioritize multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
• Basic knowledge of grocery products and pricing.
• Excellent customer service skills as well as the ability to discuss our various marketing options with customers

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
• Constant exposure to viewing computer monitors.
• Extended period of time spent sitting at work stations.
• Occasional light lifting not to exceed 50lbs.
• No or very little exposure to physical risk.
