GENERAL STATEMENT 

Under the supervision of the Recreation Sports Coordinator, the Lead Inclusive Assistant will assist with the comprehensive program plan for the Inclusive Recreation events, as well as other events for the RecSports Programs. Including, but not limited to marketing and promotion of inclusive events, special/collaborative events, and tournaments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

1. Assist with recruitment, hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of all Intramural & Inclusive Recreation Sports student staff to include all the coordination of CPR, AED and Frist-Aid training.

2. Assist with planning and supervising events including, but not limited to, Inclusive Programming,Special/Collaboration Events and Intramural Tournaments. 

3. Work closely with the Coordinator and/or Student Management Team to organize a budget and give aways for events. 

4. Collaborate with Lead Intramural Sports Assistant to work on the details of the monthly Intramural and Inclusive Newsletter as well as to ensure the operation efficiency of joint tasks. 

5. Organize contact list with inclusive and recreation sports relatable organizations and departments at CSULB and to update it each semester. 

6. Organize inventory of Intramural & Recreation sports storage and provide proper maintenance and care of all Inclusive equipment. 

7. Attend and be present at all Student Management Team meetings. If unable to attend, the Lead must notify the organizer and get information from other leads.

8. Attend and be present at event meetings for all Inclusive Recreation events and other events as assigned. 

9. Assist in development of promotional materials for recruiting, marketing, and promoting Inclusive Recreation programs and other events. 

10. Assist Recreational Sports Coordinator in the regular evaluation of all Inclusive Recreation programs, special/collaboration events, and tournaments to determine effectiveness of programming. 

11. Represent the Inclusive Recreation program at campus events. 

12. Assist in the preparation of each program, event report, and Standard Operation Procedure report. 

13. Works cooperatively with Student Management Team to plan and implement large scale programs and/or student training sessions as needed. 

14. Serves on ASI, University, DSS (Disabled Students Services) and NIRSA (National Intramural Recreation Sports Association) committees as directed or approved.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Education and Experience Recreation, Kinesiology and Health Services majors are preferred, but not required. Enrolled in at least six units and making satisfactory progress in related degree program at CSULB. Minimum of one year progressive experience in a university or related inclusive activities setting. Currently holds (or will receive within 30 days of hiring date) CPR, First Aid and AED Certification from nationally recognized entity.


Knowledge and Abilities

Successful candidate will possess strong student development knowledge and the ability to connect well with students. Must be willing to work with an ethnically and culturally diverse group of student staff and volunteers. Willingness to research information and professional organizations pertaining to inclusiveprogramming. Exceptional customer skills are a must. Must possess enhanced leadership skills and be able to work in a diverse environment
