Michigan-based non-profit membership organization seeks a Finance Coordinator (reporting directly to the organization’s finance director). The Association has over 8,000 members from 42 countries worldwide. It has nearly 100 affiliated chapters which are independent organizations, half from outside the USA, with over 26,000 members in those chapters: and 37 special interest groups.
Responsibilities
Accounting
- Manage vendor list and process accounts payable for 3 entities
- Manage account receivables
- Manage job board
- Managing onsite event bookstore
- Prepare and record journal entries
- Process daily cash receipts and bank reconciliations
- Digitize paper documents
- Assist with updating and maintaining standard operating procedure document
- Assist with federal and state tax forms, licenses, permits, and censuses
- Other ad hoc duties
Property
- Assisting with performing preventive/predictive maintenance
- Conducting vendor search and collecting bids
- Track and order office, maintenance, and cleaning supplies
Skills/Key Competencies
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to work independently with minimal instruction
- Outstanding organizational and planning skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy a must
Preferred Education and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
- Minimum of 1 year of account receivable experience
