Responsibilities
- Oversight of financial reporting on a monthly basis. Creates detailed general ledger schedules associated with the assigned Agency/profit center to assist with audits, surveys, and tax return preparations. Meet multiple deadlines associated with the month-end close and other financial closing deadlines at your assigned insurance Agency/profit center.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Oversee and maintain proper internal controls within the branch.
- Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
- Leads annual budget process and the development of forecasts for Agency/profit center throughout the year.
- Responsible for communicating with customers and vendors to answer questions and resolve discrepancies associated with the Agency/profit center. Serves as the liaison between senior management and producers and the accounting department.
- Works with senior management including the CFO and others to improve the profitability and growth of the Agency/profit center.
- Partners with other departments assist to identify and eliminate non-value-added activities within the Agency/profit center to improve operations. Assist with other Agency acquisitions transition into existing operations.
- Oversee annual audit for the Agency/profit center financial statements. Assists auditors and TPA’s during audits by providing information and answering questions.
- Responds to both internal and external customer information requests in a timely manner and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Recommends improvements to existing corporate programs. Analyzes financial statements in order to point out areas that can be improved upon for recording transactions, streamlining of procedures, and ways to increase the bottom line for profit center.
- Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
- Responsible for cash management and/or administration of banking websites associated with the accounts linked to the assigned profit center. This includes reviewing and approving transactions as necessary.
- Travel may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; and eight plus years related experience including a minimum of 5 years in management.
- Certified Public Account license preferred.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual be tech savvy and should have knowledge Accounting software; Internet software; Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
- Agency management software experience a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Residents Base Salary: $140,000-160,000 (commensurate upon experience)
