Job Description
ASSYST is looking for a Senior Database Developer with a good understanding of Accounting / Financial Data to support our client project in Washington, DC. The candidate must have strong PL/SQL skills and the ability to understand the functional meaning of the data while effectively interfacing with business users and other technical teams.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding requirements and designing database structures, developing database components including stored procedures, functions, packages, and scripts.
- Interact with other technical team members, including guiding offshore development resources to translate requirements into solutions.
- Perform data analysis and inform analytic and reports development with appropriate data layer preparation.
- Modify code to optimize for performance and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing of reports and data-driven solutions.
- Build knowledge of the applications and serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the application to address ad hoc requests from business users.
Skills/Experience Required:
- 10 years of experience working with Oracle databases, demonstrating strong PL/SQL skills, and a solid understanding of accounting data.
- Proven expertise in creating data models and experience using ERWIN tool.
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and task prioritization to facilitate successful project completion.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with other team members and business users.
