Position Summary: Responsible for the overall accounting costing functions, including audit, compliance and taxes under various laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Collect data to determine costs of business activities on raw material purchases, inventory, and manufacturing labor and overhead.
2. Assist Production/Inventory Control in establishing internal control procedures and source documents for inventory valuation and income determination.
3. Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
4. Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual production costs.
5. Analyze audits of costs and prepare reports.
6. Compile cost information to be used in operating budget preparation.
7. Make estimates of new and proposed product or service costs.
8. Recommend cost efficiencies in new product layouts.
9. Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
10. Develop and establish automated costing information using the job-cost accounting module of the integrated manufacturing system software.
11. Inventory reconciliation to general ledger.
12. Review the closing of work orders.
13. Control and review BOM accuracy.
14. Work with Engineering to develop accurate BOMs.
15. Monitor, analyze and develop overhead rates.
16. Develop overhead rate for material handling.
17. Analyze overhead absorption.
18. Book cost of sales.
19. Analyze and develop gross margin analysis.
20. Reconcile gross margin reports to general ledger.
21. Review gross margin with management.
22. Review cost increases and get communicated to all impacted.
23. Coordinate price book development and analyze versus cost or other changes.
24. Analyze significant material cost increase.
25. Understandable reporting to manufacturing and other members of management.
26. Key player in training employees to use the computer system to generate accurate cost and profit data including order entry, invoicing, time.
27. Analyze cost of warranty and reworks and ensure proper coding by service and sales.
28. Insure proper reporting on corporate report package on page 28 & 29.
29. Analysis of purchase price variances.
30. Analysis of material usage variances.
31. Analysis of all variances.
32. Control and review general ledger inputs to inventory.
33. Labor utilization and reporting.
34. Monitor adequacy of audit trails and monitor inventory adjustments and unusual transactions.
35. Recommend and monitor cost updates.
36. Play key role in physical inventories.
37. Assist with pricing proposals.
38. Provide accurate and timely information to both internal and external auditors.
39. Work with all areas of company to maintain and establish correct costing data.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
B.A., B.S., or B.B.A. degree in accounting with five or more years related experience in standard costing, or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Basic computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, and Windows required. Preferred experience in working with a fully integrated ERP system. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers. Ability to be very detail oriented, especially when preparing reports or otherwise reporting financial and accounting information required.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to keep sensitive and confidential information secure.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
