This position has flexible availability. Astera Health is offering the position from PRN up to 48 hours per pay period based off candidate availability. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assists the OTR with treatments in the areas of upper extremity functioning, ADLs, cognitive/sensory/perceptual functioning, wheelchair positioning, adaptive equipment needs, fabrication of splints or other positioning devices and any other areas as needed.
- Carries out treatments across the age span in accordance with the occupational therapist’s plan and physician’s orders. Communicates with the OTR as needed concerning patient’s condition or progress to maintain continuity of care.
- Completes progress notes concerning patient’s condition and progress toward therapy goals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service, patient care and overall experience
- Understanding of health care system and continuum of care
- Strong computer skills with ability to become skilled in EPIC with training
Education and experience required:
- Graduate from Occupational Therapy Assistant program with completed exam and licensure
- Experience with splinting, geriatrics, and orthopedics; Or combined years of relevant education and experience to perform the essential duties of this position.
