What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Aston Carter?
Aston Carter has partnered with a company in Detroit, MI to find a technical Accounting Manager. This role will be heavily involved in diving into accounting data and finding out data, and creating processed. As Accounting Manager, you will develop financial statement and reporting that will then go to the technical reporting director. This is a great opportunity for growth within this organization over the years, and the Accounting Manager will be exposed to many different areas of the financial reporting process.
Responsibilities:
- Research, resolve and document technical accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Collaborate with external auditors on technical accounting topics and new accounting issues
- Review methodologies and calculations connected with the most significant accounting areas, often including management estimates and assumptions
- Support the Financial Reporting team on the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Prepare, update and ensure adherence with accounting policies
- Conduct periodic training to update finance and accounting teams on new and emerging accounting standards
- Monitor and communicate relevant information regarding new and emerging accounting standards and provide assistance in implementing new standards
- Interact with other members of management on special projects
- Communicate information requested by leadership
- Communicate and embody the culture and mission of the company
Qualifications:
- 4 years working in public accounting capacity. This could be at a mid size or large firm, or a public company.
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance and have their CPA
