What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Specialist position at Aston Carter?
Description:
Prepares for open enrollment and coordinates with third parties as needed. Conducts benefit change preparation activities and administers open enrollment and qualified family status change processing. Coordinates the execution of the Wellness Program by notifying employees to complete requirements, auditing for those who did not meet requirements, and adjusting plan options and premiums, as needed. Reconciles premium billing, prepares vendor payments, and sends missed employee deductions and refunds reports to Finance. Processes Educational Assistance Programs reimbursements. Performs the year-end and annual activities.

General awareness of Federal and State laws and regulations governing health and welfare benefits

(COBRA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Family and Medical Leave Act
(FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Sections 79, 105, 125, etc.)
