- 1 year(s) experience working in collections OR strong medical insurance verification/claims experience
- must have experience working in a high volume, performance metric role
Description:
Collectors will be going through claims that need to be sent back to the insurance provider correcting and resubmitting claims. (Mostly Medicare). This individual will need to contact from time to time (not often) the agency each patient is currently admitted to in order to confirm dates of discharge. (Not a call-center)
- Prepares and processes various insurance claims.
- Resubmit claims with proper corrections attached
- Verifies data by conferring with appropriate agency and/or external personnel on a daily basis.
- Research and error claims and make necessary corrections
- Review accounts receivable on a daily basis
- Resolve all customer requests and inquiries
- Contact home health agency to confirm accurate patient check-in/check-out dates
- Recommends departmental/agency corrective action as required
