Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the BOM/Job Order Specialist is to create job orders in the database and maintain accurate and consistent bills of material and routings. Audits and closes job orders to ensure all job costs are attached. This is an office/clerical position and works in cooperation with the Sales, Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing Departments.
Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required.
• Maintains bills of material and routings for standard product in the production database, adding/updating when necessary in a timely manner, maintaining accuracy, and working closely with product development
• Creates new work orders/jobs as required for orders received from Sales, attaching correct bills of material and routing, and referencing applicable drawings and other documents.
• Manages work orders/jobs in the database; monitors and updates job status as requested, notifying Manufacturing of changes in a timely manner
• Follows up immediately on order change notifications to jobs already in production, supplying the necessary information to affected parties and updating job orders in the database
• Closes work orders/jobs in a timely manner; checks jobs prior to closing in the ERP system (Syteline) for completeness and accuracy; attaches costs necessary for invoicing, including costs of outside purchases and freight when necessary
• Prints and collates information and paperwork necessary for manufacturing into job packets according to procedure; routes job packets to manufacturing departments in a timely manner
• Performs and monitors entry of material and labor transactions
• Processes scheduling, as required
• Assists with inventory management as necessary; creates item numbers, assists with cycle counts

Qualifications:
• High school diploma/GED
• Satisfactory experience in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
• Extremely detail oriented and organized
• Must have the ability to work in a team environment
• Requires a high degree of organizational skills; proficiency in data entry
• Strong math skills
PLUS:
• Experience with sign industry materials, processes, understanding of job routings, and terminology
• Previous experience with ERP systems or similar training; experience with the terminology and principles of ERP systems
• Experience with computerized scheduling in a manufacturing environment
• Previous estimating experience
• The ability to read and understand blueprints; mathematics knowledge as it relates to custom sign fabrication
