What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer/Planner position at Aston Carter?
Description:
• Purchase Order Cycle
o Manage product and material purchase order cycle from purchase to delivery.
o Optimize purchase quantities to optimize product cost and meet Supply Planning inventory availability objectives.
o Place purchase orders, lead regular supplier production reviews, and arrange delivery to the Distribution center.
o Expedite or push out orders as necessary to support company Inventory and service goals.
• Materials Planning
o Translate finished good supply plan into relevant materials purchase plan.
o Generate and complete work orders, transfer orders in NetSuite.
o Oversee delivery of components and raw materials to contract manufacturers.
o Balance cost tiers, MOQs, inventory targets to ensure contract manufacturers can produce on time.
• Supplier Management
o Primary point of contact for all contract manufacturers and packaging component manufacturers.
o Manage contract manufacturers to deliver purchase orders on time, in full, on quality
o Participate in development of key vendor performance metrics. Track vendor performance against key metrics and drive accountability across supply base.
o Lead regular supplier reviews with key supplier partners. Advance deeper collaboration with strategic partners to shorten leadtimes and increase Supply Chain flexibility.
o Partner with R&D to evaluate and onboard potential new suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• New Product Innovation
o Primary Supply Chain point of contact on all new product innovation.
o Coordinate innovation activities at contract manufacturers and packaging suppliers including product quotation, make and fill specifications, pilot production, sample shipment and related development activities.
o Ensure new product launch products are produced on time to meet customer readiness dates.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field/any degree, degree preferred but open to exceptional candidate with lots of experience.
• 2-5 years of relevant and progressive supply chain or procurement experience
• Strong knowledge of supply chain and planning logic in cosmetics, personal care, CPG, and FDA regulated industries.
• Experience with active negotiation and strong decision-making skills
• Experience with ERP systems and processes - experience with NetSuite and/or Oracle Supply Chain Planning Cloud a plus
• Strong proficiency in Excel building complex models and analyzing large data sets.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, willing to learn, ask questions, seek solutions, active problem solve, and push for change
• Strong communication and negotiation skills - written and verbal, and ability to build cross-functional partnerships and work with cross-functional teams.
