- Research: Researching vendors and wholesalers to find products that meet the company's needs
- Negotiation: Negotiating contracts with suppliers to get a fair price, discounts, or wholesale prices
- Quality evaluation: Evaluating the quality of goods
- Budgeting: Staying within a budget
- Inventory management: Managing inventory
- Delivery: Ensuring that ordered products are received within the stated timeframe
- Communication: Communicating supply problems to other departments and acting as an interface between suppliers and other departments
- Trend monitoring: Monitoring market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers
- Risk assessment: Assessing the financial risks of purchases and monitoring for issues that present risk or opportunity to the organization
- 1 years of buying experience (healthcare industry a plus)
- 1 year of oracle experience
- Bachelors degree preferred, not required
