What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chassis Buyer position at Aston Carter?
Description:
- Candidate will be responsible for looking at Chassis suppliers for the service parts division within the company's customer service division, anything post production once the vehicle leaves the plant.
- This will include analyzing data from internal and external sources within excel and other company specific programs.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies.
- Manage supplier price change requests, resourcing actions, market tests and lead cost reduction projects.
- Maintain supplier active pricing in purchasing files.
- Lead supplier commercial negotiations and resolve issues affecting part supply, including distressed supplier situations.
- Insure suppliers adherence to company's global terms and conditions.
- Ensure timely responses to all quality issues and processing of SREA’s and Alerts.
- Meet deadlines for all buyer requests.
- Manage timely resolution of part sourcing and pricing issues.
- Quote and negotiate pricing with suppliers for the purchase of service parts, tooling and services.
- Assist in resolution of cost, quality and delivery issues affecting supply.
- Work with other Buyers in both Service and Production to develop strategies and implement solutions.
