What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Aston Carter?
Description:
This position will perform financial project control functions on contracts that have an Earned Value Management (EVM) requirement. This entails supporting financial and earned data contract deliverables, maintaining and analyzing cost and schedule data in the EVM system, and monitoring data in the EVM system for compliance with EVM metrics. This position directly supports Program Managers in the management of their contracts. This position will also involve learning to use the Deltek Cobra EVM tool if the candidate does not already have experience using Deltek Cobra.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Duties will include supporting variance analysis, expenditure and funding analysis, financial and contract reporting.
• Maintain compliance with EVM data in the system.
• Produce monthly EVM government reports and be responsible for the integrity of the cost data in those reports.
• Support maintenance of a baseline budget and support maintaining compliance with change control of the baseline budget.
• Provide financial analysis and reports at all levels (contract, CLIN, funding, WBS, etc.)
• Trend analysis of expenditures, including chart creation, calculations, and recommendations to Program Managers.
• Create new reports/spreadsheets as needed to meet Program Manager requests and/or contract reporting requirements.
• Track subcontractor and material open commitments against budgets and expenditures.
• Provide guidance as required to Program Manager on what is an allowable contract cost versus unallowable.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business or accounting, or equivalent related job experience.
• Previous experience in government contracting
• Knowledge of U.S. Government and DoD acquisition regulations (FAR, DFAR)
• Must have an excellent working knowledge of MS office suite.
• Experience with EAC is a big plus
• Experience with Cobra software is a plus
• Prior experience in pricing proposals is a plus
• Strong Attention to detail, problem-solving
