Job Description: Basic Function and Scope of the Position:
The staff HRBP is a member of the HR team supporting the commercial organization in the Americas (Region includes the US, Canada and LATAM); this role will focus on HR support for the Service and Support (~385 employees) and Regional Commercial Operations (~90 employees) while the current incumbent is on parental leave.
Incumbent provides business facing HR support to carry out HR processes and procedures, focused most heavily on: annual compensation planning, promotion processes, employee engagement, and supporting the talent acquisition process led by our talent acquisition team. Incumbent will also promote a positive work environment and culture and works in close partnership with Illumina management and other HR team members to support delivery of HR.

- Partners with leadership to drive business objectives, build talent and advance company culture.
- Ensures leaders and their teams have a shared understanding of success and accountability in people processes. Facilitates an organization communication and a culture that embraces feedback, development, and rewards for great performance
- Coaches to build an effective feedback culture.
- Assists with projects by creating and executing project work plans, identifying resources needed and assigning responsibilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Preferred Educational Background :
- Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 8 years HR experience, including time in a business facing HR role
- Must have experience in compensation planning processes, using and reporting from Workday, using and manipulating data in excel and creation of Powerpoint presentations and communication materials
- Experience supporting Commercial and field functions strongly preferred
- Must be extremely organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a rapidly changing environment
- Must demonstrate the ability to work both independently, and cooperatively within a team, as needed
- Knowledge and experience across the business facing HR disciplines including talent acquisition, compensation, talent management, performance management, recruitment, organizational development, and HR systems
- Candidate must possess excellent verbal/written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, project management skills
- HR certifications or HR focused education a plus
