What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Coordinator position at Aston Carter?
This opportunity will have you working as a Logistics Coordinator with one of the fastest growing organizations in North America, dedicated to maximizing its client’s revenue generation from recyclable paper.
As an Outbound Logistics Coordinator, you will participate in weekly inventory calls and work with your plant operations team and marketing team to set up/fulfill outbound shipments per their direction. In this role, you will communicate with carriers/mill logistics teams to coordinate and monitor the status of the pickups. Also, you will manage a database software scale system which includes scaling trucks in/out, generating loading reports, and producing Bill of Ladings for outgoing shipments. You will also regularly support the operations team, sales team & accounting teams.
Position Overview:
- Participate in team inventory calls and initiate pick up requests based on direction from the Marketing Team/Plant Manager.
- Communicate with Carriers to set up transportation if necessary.
- Maintain and update shared shipping plans and daily tons shipped.
- Trouble shoot issues adding, cancelling, or re-scheduling pick ups, as needed.
- Create Customer Sales Orders and pick up numbers within our software system.
- Track ETAs, and customer order fulfillment.
- Operate a computer system/scale to include weighing trucks in/out, generation loading reports for plant personnel, Bills of Ladings and scale tickets for drivers.
- Update pricing and weights obtained by customer reports/portals to generate invoices within our internal software system
- Provide support through reporting needs to include customer pricing logs.
- File/provide shipping documents as requested by customers, to include pictures, scale tickets, and packing list for export orders.
- Ensure freight bills are forwarded to the freight team for timely payment.
- Participate in monthly close out of shipments by the accounting deadline and manage/reconcile purchase order requisition to report to the accounting department.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, and professional communication skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics is preferred.
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Previous warehouse/manufacturing office environment experience.
- Experience with Scale Operations is a plus
