What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandising Assistant position at Aston Carter?
Aston Carter is exclusively partnering with a large food distribution corporation and largest retailer-owned cooperative in the US to hire for a Merchandising Assistant to join their Procurement and Purchasing. This position will be heavily involved in supporting the buying teams administratively; training will last between 2 to 3 months onsite & then the position will be a hybrid role.
Description:
- The Merchandising Assistant supports the day-to-day coordination and administrative tasks for the Buying Teams for their assigned Product Division
- This position will support Category Manager(s) in the areas of administrative duties, reporting, workshop preparation, and item maintenance
- This position will be responsible for coordinating across divisions and gathering information necessary for Category Managers to deliver on their strategic plan
- The Merchandise Assistant will connect the dots between meeting category objectives, divisional objectives and the organizational objectives
- Going to competitor stores for specific item research for research and presentations
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree is required
- Someone who has experience with Excel/Microsoft Office Suite (Used for presentations with Category Managers)
- Someone who has a experience with Data Entry/ Administrative Assistant skills
- Someone who is comfortable working within Powerpoint and creating presentations that we need to presented in front of department managers
