What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Analyst position at Aston Carter?
- Independently execute transactions and resolve problems with recordkeeping, accounting, trade platform and/or pricing system with minimal guidance.
- Build new investments, follow compliance rules, and ensure readiness for trading, reconciliation, settlement, client reporting and/or pricing process.
- Identify and resolve issues associated with client data, trade breaks, reconciliation breaks, and/or compliance breaches.
- Prepare reports and maintain controls in alignment with internal policies and clients' needs.
- Recommend, research, test, document and/or progress towards becoming lead on system changes.
- Interface with internal and external personnel including operations staff, administration, mutual fund companies, IT, banks, broker dealers, custodians, subadvisors, outside vendors, regulatory agencies and/or industry contracts to educate, provide direction, obtain information and resolve problems.
- Demonstrate expertise in the areas of technical functions, research of issues, problem solving, independent decision making and effective communication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, economics or business preferred
- Minimum of 3-4 years related experience required
- Experience in investment/mutual fund operations or related field preferred
- Knowledge of financial services and investment related terminology preferred
- Basic PC and/or system skills required
- SQL experience beneficial but not required
