Public Relations Manager
Location: BOYDTON-BN1
Tentative start date: 4/17/2023
Tentative end date: 4/17/2024
Daily schedule and OT estimate: Monday - Friday some evening are necessary and no OT
Equipment required: Supplier to provide
Workspace type: onsite assigned
Responsible for developing and implementing community engagement plans for a regional projects.
Implementing the engagement plan includes:
- Development of key messages and materials
- Planning supporting and representing where applicable client in meetings and events in the community
- Political stakeholder engagement
- Resident engagement
- Political and media monitoring
- Answer or coordinate answers to inquiries
- Coordinate with permitting community engagement construction and other teams
- Be present in the community and/or onsite
Location: Remote for the most part while they are onsite but will have space in office for equipment resources. Needs to reside in or near Mecklenburg County Virginia.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Years of experience required - 5 years of experience in public relations (community engagement)
Degrees or certifications required - No, communications, political science, or non-profit degree is nice but not a requirement.
Disqualifiers - No
Best vs. average - They want someone who has worked with elected leaders, worked with challenging issues in communities and be able to deliver results. Anyone who has worked for a city and has led a city process or led a process for a different organization and dealt with controversy to deliver results.
Performance indicators - Mix of deadlines & quality of work
