What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant (HYBRID) position at Aston Carter?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and/or review of monthly journal entries
- Verifies intercompany balances and clearing accounts
- Review and maintain all general ledger transactions, ensuring appropriate activity within each account
- Reviewing of customer credit card transactions to ensure authorizations captured and timely application of cash within the system
- Project accounting for open projects, reporting and reviewing profitability of projects working with the business to ensure timely billing and proper revenue recognition based on required milestones and completion of performance obligations
- Responsible for monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and quarterly balance sheet analytics in compliance with related accounting policies
- Updates Hyperion with monthly trial balance and reconciles to ERP system load supplemental data forms as needed
- Assists with the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements
- Track performance against budget and forecasts and explain variances for certain operating expenses
- Oversees payroll in coordination with HR and payroll service provider monitors time collection system if applicable
- Oversee 3rd Party sales and use tax program to ensure completeness and compliance with states
- Help track T&E, purchasing card, airfare, depreciation and/or leases for the company
- Partners with Sales and external warehouses to ensure cycle count, PPV and inventory accuracy
- Monthly tracking of capital project spending and project status
- Assists with the preparation, implementation and execution of accounting policies and procedures
- Comply with and support SOX documentation and internal controls over financial reporting, GAAP policies, including annual testing requirements
- Assist with AP as needed (vendor setup, payment)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of full cycle accounting experience
- Experience with large, manufacturing, multi-national, public corporations
- Experience with Epicor or other large ERP system
- Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or other financial consolidation system a plus
- Experience with Section 404 Sarbanes-Oxley and 10Q, 10K reporting
- Excellent system and computer skills, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong Excel skills including: vlookup, sumifs, pivot tables, ability to effectively manipulate and organize large amounts of data
- High Level of analytic and quantitative skills
- Strong communication skills: excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated problem solver, strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Superior organization skills, ability to multi-task and re-arrange priorities as needed, monitor workflow in meeting critical deadline and project timetables
