Description:
Manufacturing company specializing in serving medical technology and data center clientele is currently seeking a Sr. Accountant to support their Global Consolidations and Reporting business. This role will have a leadership role in consolidations accounting, accounting policy adherence and implementation, improving internal audit procedures and controls, and driving implementation and adoption of our OneStream financial reporting system. This role reports to the Corporate Controller, and is based in our San Jose, CA facility.
Responsibilities:
Owning month-end close fluctuation analytics, driving explanations and validating accounting treatment across the entities
Applies principles of accounting to analyze complex financial information and prepare financial reports.
Assists with leading and communicating accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
Analyzes accounts, records, and reports. Investigates and resolves any accounting issues. Maintains the standard chart of accounts, ensuring adherence to policies around account setup and usage.
Develop an internal audit framework that can be implemented by the broader accounting team.
Prepares data for financial statements, & quarterly and annual regulatory filings using applicable systems.
Reviews/performs complex reconciliations and analyzes resulting variances. Proposes and prepares any adjusting entries necessary resulting from reconciliations.
Research questions and investigates variances on the financial statements & communicates findings.
Recommends and reviews proposed process improvements. Explores the modification and implementation of changes in systems and procedures.
Prepares complex reports in support of internal and external audits.
Provide value-added analytical management reporting, including ad hoc requests, to help provide the organization with a deeper understanding of functional expenses, variances, and SGA changes and help identify additional efficiency opportunities.
Utilizing technology to drive continuous improvement to Vander-Bend’s financial accounting processes, reporting and controls.
Assisting Corporate finance team with other projects, including monthly consolidations, year-end financial statement audits, and accounting policy standardization and implementation.
Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Public Accounting Experience
Manufacturing or Plant Accounting experience- Month end close, journal entries, reconciliations
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting & CPA required
Consolidations experience- corporate accounting experience, consolidating entities prior experience with Consolidations software required; OneStream software experience preferred
3 years of experience in an analytical role in accounting or auditing
Financial statement proficiency
Auditing experience preferred
