What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst position at Aston Carter?
Description:
This individual will be responsible for the end-to-end quarterly and annual 10-Q/K preparation, statutory financial reporting, supporting our external audit, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and corporate policies. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting working in a fast-paced, complex and team-oriented environment. This position reports to the Financial Reporting Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and/or review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including tie-out for all SEC filings in accordance with US GAAP, internal policies, SOX and audit requirements.
- Research and resolve financial reporting issues and assist with the resolution of new or unusual transactions to ensure proper application of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining financial reporting controls and timely remediation of identified issues in accordance with SOX.
- Lead the external auditor’s review of the SEC filings and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits of financial statements.
- Prepare quarterly US GAAP and SEC Reporting disclosure checklist.
- Lead research and tracking of industry disclosures, news, and best practices for all external reporting.
- Track and assess new ASC and SEC disclosure requirements and update disclosures accordingly.
- Establish active and effective communication with senior members of the Finance Leadership Team and ensure that SEC filings reflect those strategic initiatives.
- Establish and maintain timelines and processes that ensure the accurate and timely preparation, review and filing of SEC filings.
- Assist with monthly close activities, including preparing various journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist in the creation of financial reporting-related policies and procedures.
- Provide insightful financial analysis including explanations of variances between actual and prior period results and presents findings.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis for management and auditors, as needed.
- Supporting various aspects of our accounting and reporting process.

- Excellent understanding of US GAAP and financial statements.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
