Description:
The Revenue Cycle Specialist I manages all aspects of insurance and follow-up while adhering to HIPAA compliance, privacy and confidentiality standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Complete follow-up on all outstanding claims monthly
- Submission of appeals and denial follow up for prompt reimbursement
- Utilize clearinghouse functions to ensure clean claim submission
- Responsible for updating contracts by billing system yearly, as applicable
- Submission of end of month reports for financial period closing
- Prepare agenda for monthly client conference call
- Identify and communicate trends directly to client
- Conduct weekly meetings with internal team
- Minimum 3-years previous experience in medical billing and/or revenue cycle
- Previous experience in accounts receivable
- Knowledge of payer contracting preferred
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Working knowledge of month end reporting processes
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and multitask required
- Professional attitude and teamwork mentality
