What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Mental Health Tech position at Astria Health?
LMHW duties may include:
- Support and guidance for MHW’s on the unit in daily tasks and safety management
- Completing required documentation which reflects MHW’s areas of concern, support and progress toward improvement when appropriate
- Training staff in Psychiatric Emergency Response procedures
- Oversight and support in addressing performance challenges for MHW’s
- Developing and conducting social & leisure activities for clients
- Facilitating educational, behavioral health, or skill-building groups and documenting accordingly
- Observing MHW’s facilitating groups and provide feedback and support to improve facilitation skills
- Coaching clients in practical living skills such as nutrition, budgeting, and other independent living activities
- Providing daily oversight of medication self-administration and monitoring symptoms & medication response
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment, which may vary from general housekeeping to deep cleaning depending on assigned facility
- Completing required documentation that reflects the activities, goals, and progress of each client
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years’ experience in behavioral health services
- Training Experience Preferred
- Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor
- Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide documentation upon hire or be approved for a qualified medical or religious exemption prior to starting work
