Job Summary:
ATC is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team. As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, planning, designing and managing the systems/products used within the RV/Trailers to create enhanced, reliable, and easy to use systems for our internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of electrical engineering experience, enjoy collaborating in a team environment, and possesses a passion for innovation and continuous improvement. Essential Job Functions:
1. Participates in the development of a technical roadmap for electrical systems within RV/ Trailer products.
2. Collaborates cross-functionally to achieve cost and functionality goals for the department in alignment with overall company strategy.
3. Leads electrical engineering initiatives and projects that result in a positive impact to the business.
4. Works with the Engineering Team, Manufacturing, and Sales & Marketing teams to interpret customer requirements and deliver manufacturable solutions tailored to meet customer needs.
5. Collaborates across engineering teams to solve engineering challenges quickly to minimize impact on customers.
6. Engages in critical problem solving and proactively suggest improvements that lead to cost savings that benefit both ATC and the customer.
7. Contributes to the development of electrical standards and trade-off curves that positively impact ATCs ability to meet customer and business needs.
8. Proactively identifies and communicates electrical engineering standards that comply with all legal and industry requirements.
9. Assists in the provisioning of needed materials for customer communications, including proposals/RFPs, quotes/RFQs, customer prints and renderings, marketing materials, etc. to ensure understanding of electrical system capabilities.
Position Requirements:
A. Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; will consider a combination of course work and experience.
B. Experience: 5 years of electrical engineering experience development experience in a systems environment used within an automotive, specialty vehicle, or related industry preferred; product development experience is a plus.
C. Functional Skills: Strength in the design, development, and implementation of trailer/RV/automotive systems and components; strong detail orientation with excellent researching, planning, prioritizing, and organizing skills are required to work effectively in managing various projects. Must be able to take initiative, be forward-thinking, and make solid decisions focused on the goals of the organization. Excellent math and problem-solving skills.
D. Technology Aptitude/Skills: Microsoft Office experience required along with CAD (preferably SolidWorks).
E. Language Skills: Advanced written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to present to groups and train others in product features. Able to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts in simple, effective terms.
F. Leadership/Behaviors: Self-driven; results-focused; Proactively anticipate needs and deliver adaptive and sustainable solutions; High quality, safety, and detail-orientated individual; Strong collaboration skills; Ability to conceptualize and complete projects that are viable and cost effective.
