Bilingual Human Service Specialist V (cluster care)

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently recruiting for a Human Services Specialist V. This Full-Time temporary position pays $23.44 per hour and is located Rockville, Maryland

Employees assigned to this position are subject to Union membership, fees, and dues in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, and employment with ATHENA may be conditioned upon participation in client’s Union.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to work effectively with children and adults who have social, economic, emotional, behavioral or health problems
• Develop, initiate, and follow through with an appropriate plan of service
• Function as a member of service team; participating in team meetings with other professionals responsible for developing or modifying family service plans for clients
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff members, other agencies and institutions and the public
• Possess thorough knowledge of principles, practices, requirements, and procedures needed to meet the objectives of the care coordination program including federal, state and county eligibility, laws and regulations
• Maintain up-to-date case files and notes utilizing customer tracking software

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Four years of experience in the delivery human services.
• Minimum two years' experience conducting community-based/home visiting services and/or services to young parents of young children.
• Assignments may also require knowledge of and skill in using computer and automated office technology.
• Requires training in DHHS' enterprise Integrated Case Management system (training provided within 2 weeks of start date), HIPPA
• Familiarity or experience in assisting clients with SNAP, TCA, OHEP or child support applications via the myDHR website (as well as MHC)
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree
• Licenses: Possession and maintenance at all times of a valid Class C (or equivalent) driver's license from the applicant's state of residence

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, however evening and weekend hours may be required.
• Travel may be required up to 40% of the time.
