JOB DESCRIPTION

USC Athletics is looking to hire an Assistant Coach, Women’s Golf to join our staff and student community of 600 individuals.  This role is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the Women’s Golf program including competitive success, academic achievement, rules compliance, and fundraising.

This position serves a diverse student and staff population, must demonstrate a commitment to improving outcomes for historically under-served populations, and is expected to contribute to the program’s diversity, inclusion, and equity efforts. This is an exempt position with extended work hours and travel requirements to be expected.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Responsible for teaching specific areas of golf techniques.

• Responsible for practice organization and assisting the Head Coach with the overall operation of the golf program.

• Work with the Head Coach on all fundraising activities for the Women’s Golf program

• Promote the Women’s Golf program to various constituents including media, donors, the university community, and the general public.

• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) and a minimum of three years of college coaching experience (preferably five years of experience at Division I level). Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.

• Complete understanding of collegiate athletic conference and NCAA rules and regulations required.

• Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and Title IX compliance required.

• Complete understanding of conference, MPSF and NCAA rules and regulations.

• This position requires a high level of physical activity in the instruction of skills and requires the person to have a high skill level in women’s golf techniques.

• Excellent organizational, strategic planning skills, and written/oral communication skills required.

• Ability to implement administrative tasks and maintain interpersonal relationships with colleagues required.

• Ability to maintain CPR/AED certification required.

• Demonstrable college recruiting experience preferred.

• Experience working in higher education and/or a sports related field ideal.

Salary Range

The annual base salary range for this position is $75,000-90,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
